Benjamin Allen has a comprehensive work history in the field of education, with experience in various leadership roles. Benjamin started their career at University Preparatory Academy Middle School as a Founding Orchestra Teacher in 2008. Benjamin then moved on to University Prep Schools, where they served as Director of Data, Instruction, and Assessment/Title I Coordinator before becoming the Executive Director of School Quality. After that, they joined Detroit Public Schools Community District as the Senior Director of Assessment and Performance Management, and later as the Deputy Executive Director of Assessment. Currently, they are employed at Orange County Public Schools, where they have held positions such as Director of Accountability and Improvement, Senior Director of Research, Accountability and Grants, and currently, the Senior Director of Research, Measurement, and Strategy.
Benjamin Allen obtained a Bachelor of Music degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Benjamin then earned a Teaching Certificate from the University of Michigan. Following that, they completed a K-12 Administrator Certificate at Michigan State University. Finally, they completed their education with a Master of Music in Music Education from the University of Michigan in 2011.
