Donna Burkland

Donna Burkland is an experienced education and volunteer engagement professional with a diverse background in teaching and community service. Currently serving as the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator for Orange County United Way since September 2019, Donna coordinates large-scale volunteer events, partners with local service providers, and innovates various volunteer opportunities for residents and corporate partners. Prior to this role, Donna worked as an English teacher in the Newport Mesa Unified School District, where efforts focused on enhancing student communication and academic skills. Additional experience includes tutoring SAT and ACT students, implementing AVID strategies, and coaching underserved students across multiple school districts. Donna holds a Master’s degree in Mass Communication/Media Studies, a Single-Subject Credential in English, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature, all from California State University, Fullerton.
