Steven Waterhouse

Steven Waterhouse is the CEO and Co-Founder of Orchid. Steven has over 20 years of experience in the technology industry, with a focus on venture capital and blockchain technology.

Waterhouse began their career at Sun Microsystems, where they held various positions from 2001 to 2005, including Director of the JXTA peer-to-peer group and Director of the Honeycomb Storage Product. In 2008, they joined RPX Corporation as Chief Technology Officer, and held this position until 2012.

In 2013, Waterhouse joined Pantera Capital as a Partner. Steven led venture investments in 20 blockchain startups from 2013 to 2016, deploying $25 million. Notable investments include Bitstamp, Xapo, 21, Chain, Circle, Korbit, Civic, Zcash, and Polychain.

In 2016, Waterhouse co-founded Orchid Labs, a company that is developing a decentralized network that provides privacy and security tools for internet users. Steven is currently serving as the CEO of Orchid.

Steven Waterhouse has a PhD in Computer Science / Engineering from the University of Cambridge. Steven also has an MPhil in Speech Recognition from the University of Cambridge. Steven has a BSc in Engineering from the University of Cambridge.
