Yuntao Xia, PhD has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field. From 2010 to 2014, they were an undergraduate at the University of Minnesota, where they worked with Dr. Kechun Zhang and graduated with the highest honor. In 2017, they participated in a summer research program at the Marine Biological Laboratory, where their rotation advisors were Dr. Jennifer Lippincott-Schwartz, Dr. Ibrahim Cissé, and Dr. David Odde. From 2014 to 2019, they were a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania, working with Dr. Dennis E. Discher. Their research focused on cancer cell migration through confinement and its consequences on nucleus and DNA. From 2019 to 2021, they were a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Stanford University School of Medicine, where they worked on a new NGS-based whole genome screening method for preimplantation genetic testing. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist at Orchid, where they are transferring benchtop technology to clinical product, establishing a Next Generation Sequencing lab, and scaling up production to improve NGS-based whole genome screening for preimplantation genetic testing.
Yuntao Xia, PhD obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota in 2010-2014. Yuntao then completed a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania in 2014-2019. Currently, they are a Postdoc at Stanford University School of Medicine, specializing in Pediatrics, Single cell genomics, Preimplantation Genetic Testing, and Cell free DNA.
