Tara Shipton has over 13 years of work experience. In 2007, they completed a Graduate Scheme at Majestic Wine. From 2012 to 2014, they worked as a Project Administrator at Equal Approach - The Diversity & Inclusion Solutions Provider, where they provided specialist recruitment activities for a Government People Help and Support package. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Project Analyst at Synetek Systems, where they supported retail tenants who required an intelligence software management system. From 2016 to 2022, they worked at Afterpay PTY LTD, where they held various roles including Senior Operations Readiness, Project Manager, Card Strategy & Operations, Efficiency Analyst Lead, and Online Management Stream Lead. In 2022, they moved to Ordermentum Pty Ltd as the Head of Implementation and to Block as a Senior Operations Readiness, Project Manager.

Tara Shipton has a Master from Swinburne University of Technology in Information Technology Project Management, which they obtained from 2014 to 2015. Tara also has a Bachelor from Manchester Metropolitan University in Retail Marketing Management, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009.
