Jason McVetta has over fifteen years of work experience in the software industry. Jason began their career in 2006 as a Security Analyst at Bloomberg LP, where they defended a high profile, high value financial data system. In 2009, they became a Software Consultant at Harvard Medical School, where they were the architect and lead developer for the ESP Health project. In 2013, they began working as an Independent Software Consultant, providing cloud and open source technology solutions to major clients. Jason also worked as a Technical Instructor for Silicon Bay Training, teaching Python and SQL courses. From 2017 to 2019, they were a Director of DevOps at EveryLayer, mentoring and managing a team of junior engineers. In 2019, they became a Software Architect at CREA, leading the development of an e-commerce catalog management application. Finally, in 2020, they began working as a Software Consultant at Rollbar, where they developed an open source Terraform plugin. In 2021, they began working as a Tech Lead at Ordinary Experts.

Jason McVetta has a varied educational history. From 1996 to 2002, they studied Philosophy at The Ohio State University as an undergraduate. In 1997 and 1998, they also studied Philosophy at Ohio University. In 2007, they completed an Employee Training Program in Structured Finance at Bloomberg LP. In 2008 and 2009, they took elective courses in Government at Harvard Extension School and in Sculpture at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, respectively.
