Michael Hill

Michael Hill has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Michael started their career as a Trainee Software Engineer at Ordnance Survey in 2013 and worked their way up to become a Principal Engineer, with responsibilities including technical and team leadership, line management, and DevSecOps consultancy. Prior to their role at Ordnance Survey, they worked as a Software Engineering Consultant and Software Engineer, where they focused on geospatial software engineering and led collocated and distributed teams.

Before joining Ordnance Survey, Michael had an internship as an Information & Statistics Analyst at Southampton Solent University, where they gained experience in statistical analysis and data collation. Michael also worked as a Home Carer, undertaking various duties such as coordinating daily activities, administering medication, and liaising with medical staff.

In addition to their professional experience, Michael has volunteered at organizations such as the 3rd Age Centre, ArtVaults, and Blue Fish Cafe. Michael also had a brief role as an Office Admin at SA Man Power Ltd. Overall, Michael's work experience demonstrates a strong background in software engineering, geospatial technology, team leadership, and data analysis.

Michael Hill received their Master's degree in Management and Finance from Solent University from 2012 to 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (Hons) degree in Business Information Systems from the same institution from 2008 to 2012. Before attending university, Michael attended Prospect Technology College from 2000 to 2005 and Prince Edward High School from 1998 to 2000. In addition to their educational background, Michael also obtained certification as a Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) from the Scrum Alliance in January 2015.
