Claire Buchanan is the Marketing Manager at Oregon Symphony. Claire has also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at Indiana University Bloomington, a Social Media Intern and Student Mentor at Koinonia Center, a Chorister/Section Leader at Central Presbyterian Church, and a Summer Fun Instructor/Aide at Clovis Unified School District.

Buchanan has always had a passion for music. Claire started singing when they were just a young girl and has been a part of various choirs throughout their life. This led their to study music education in college. After graduating, they worked as a chorister with the Oregon Bach Festival and then as a summer fun instructor/aide with the Clovis Unified School District.

In 2018, Buchanan began working as a social media intern and student mentor at Koinonia Center. It was during this time that they developed a strong interest in marketing and began to pursue a career in this field. In 2020, they became a graduate research assistant at Indiana University Bloomington, where they wrote biographies and other materials for a companion website for Oxford University Press. Claire also provided administrative support and developed concepts for website content.

Buchanan’s hard work and dedication have paid off. In their current position as marketing manager at Oregon Symphony, they are responsible for all aspects of the organization’s marketing and advertising efforts.

Claire Buchanan completed their undergraduate degree at the University of Oregon, where they studied vocal performance. Claire then went on to complete their Master of Arts at Indiana University Bloomington in the field of musicology and ethnomusicology.

They work with Elizabeth Reynaud - Marketing Operations Coordinator, Fran Jamison - Director of Marketing. Claire Buchanan reports to Russell Kelban, VP, Marketing & Strategic Engagement.
