Alexa Godfrey

Alexa Godfrey is an experienced animal care professional with a diverse background in zoo keeping and wildlife management. Currently serving as a Rover Keeper at the Oregon Zoo since June 2022, previous roles include Cat/Bear Zoo Keeper and Gorilla/Small Mammal Keeper at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden and Riverbanks Zoo, respectively. Alexa's initial experience in animal care began with internships at Oakland Zoo and Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge, contributing to the care of various animals including exotic cats and elephants. A solid foundation in laboratory work was established as a Laboratory Technician at Curtis & Tompkins, LTD, where skillful adherence to protocols for environmental testing was demonstrated. Alexa holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Oregon, emphasizing biology and psychology.
