Nadja Wielebnowski, PhD, serves as Affiliate Adjunct Faculty at Portland State University since September 2013 and has been the Conservation and Research Manager at Oregon Zoo since June 2012. Previously, Nadja held the position of VP Conservation Science and Australia House Curator at the Chicago Zoological Society from January 2001 to June 2012. Earlier roles include Postdoctoral Researcher at the Conservation and Research Center, National Zoo, Smithsonian Institution, where research focused on the behavior and physiology of cheetahs and clouded leopards, utilizing noninvasive hormone monitoring techniques. Nadja earned a PhD in Ecology from the University of California, Davis, and holds both an MS in Biology and a Master's degree in Zoology/Animal Biology from the University of Vienna. Additionally, participation as a Fulbright Scholar was noted from September 1989 to September 1992.
