Cathy Tanimura

Cathy Tanimura has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning over two decades. Cathy currently holds the position of Vice President of Analytics and Data Science at Summit Partners, a role they have held since May 2020. In the same year, they also became an author for O'Reilly Media, focusing on SQL for Data Analysis.

Prior to their current roles, Cathy was the Sr. Director of Analytics & Data Science at Strava for two years, from February 2018 to March 2020. Cathy recruited, developed, and managed a team of data engineers, data analysts, and data scientists. Before Okta, Cathy held the position of Senior Director, Analytics at Zynga from August 2009 to August 2013. Cathy built and managed a team of over 30 embedded analysts, covering various departments within the company. Cathy played a crucial role in driving analysis on topics such as cross promotion, economy management, viral channels, and game and platform migration. Cathy also championed data visualization best practices during their time at Zynga.

Before their roles in the tech industry, Cathy gained experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at the University of San Francisco in 2008 and as a Consultant at Rofo in 2008. Cathy also worked as an Intern/Consultant at Apoyo Financiero in 2008 and as an Intern at Stitcher, where they developed performance metrics and performed market research on distribution strategies.

Cathy's career began in 2003 as a Sr. Business Intelligence Manager and Business Process Manager at StubHub/Ebay, where they served for over four years.
