Karen Pankey

Karen Pankey has had a diverse range of work experiences throughout their career. Karen is currently employed as a Software Engineer at O'Reilly Media, starting in May 2022. Prior to this, they worked at VoyagerGIS as a Product Engineer from October 2012 to January 2013, where they tested and documented new product features and assisted clients with software installation and configuration. From August 2006 to October 2012, Karen worked at TriTech Software Systems as a GIS Analyst, where they analyzed and processed client data to ensure accuracy of routing and geocoding in TriTech's computer-aided dispatch system. Additionally, they performed QA/QC of proprietary GIS applications and wrote and edited training and marketing materials and software documentation. Karen's earlier experience includes working at Integrated GIS Technologies, Inc. as a GIS Analyst from September 2004 to August 2006. Here, they edited and developed custom GIS training manuals for federal agencies, performed data conversion and digitizing, and provided on-site GIS support for the City of La Mesa.

Karen Pankey has pursued graduate coursework in Computer Science at San Diego State University. Additionally, they obtained a C# Programming Certificate from UC San Diego Extended Studies. Karen also earned a GIS Certificate and a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from San Diego State University.
