Dr. Madhu Fernando has a diverse and extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they serve as the Head of Strategy and Operational Excellence at OREL Corporation. Previously, they held the position of CEO/Project Management Consultant at Innova Strategies and also served as a Director there. Dr. Madhu Fernando, also worked as a Visiting Senior Lecturer for the MBA Program at the University of Moratuwa.

Dr. Fernando has contributed to the field of education as a Faculty Member in the Postgraduate Faculty at the Asia Pacific University of Technology and Innovation (APU/APIIT). Prior to that, they obtained their Master of Engineering (MEng) in Information Technology from RMIT University from 1997 to 2000. Dr. Fernando completed their college education at Visakha Vidyalaya Colombo between 1983 and 1990. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified ScrumMaster (CSM), and Certified Baseline PMO Consultant (CB-PMO).
