Peter Hotchkiss

Peter Hotchkiss currently serves as a Science Policy Adviser at the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), a role held since April 2020, where responsibilities include developing science policy advice for the Director-General and serving as Secretary to the Scientific Advisory Board. Previously, Peter held leadership roles within the OPCW, including Acting Director of the Office of Strategy and Policy and Senior Science Policy Officer, focusing on policy development and scientific guidance. Peter's experience at Sandia National Laboratories involved international initiatives for chemical threat reduction and innovative research in explosive materials and detection technologies. Peter holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology and dual degrees in Chemistry (Bachelor of Science) and Linguistics (Bachelor of Arts) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
