Tianhong Yu

Tianhong Yu has a diverse background in various industries and roles. In 2017, they co-founded and served as the COO of Origin Space, China's first commercial aerospace company focused on space resource exploration and utilization. They were responsible for expanding the boundaries of human civilization through the development and utilization of near-Earth asteroid resources.

In 2018, Tianhong Yu worked as a Senior Data Scientist at RevoChem LLC. During this time, they utilized their expertise in data science to contribute to the company's projects.

From 2015 to 2017, Tianhong Yu founded and served as the Chief Data Scientist at Houston Real Game LLC. They developed multiple escape room games using various tools and techniques, designed the company's website using WordPress, and implemented marketing strategies with Google AdWords.

Tianhong Yu also worked at Shell as a Data Scientist in 2017. They developed a supervised machine learning method for monitoring oil field drilling bit/reamer using Python. This software was successfully deployed to multiple wells in the Gulf of Mexico, providing early worn warnings. Additionally, they cleaned up a large amount of real-time drilling data to meet quality requirements.

Prior to that, Tianhong Yu worked at CGG as a Seismic Imager from 2013 to 2015. They worked on various projects involving the validation and processing of seismic data, generating synthetic data to prove new geophysical models and methods, and improving team performance through the creation of Python scripts.

Their earlier experience includes working as a Research Assistant at Clemson University from 2010 to 2013, where they conducted research on nucleosynthesis in supernovae and galactic chemical evolution. They also served as a Teaching Assistant for astronomy and physics labs during their time at Clemson University.

Finally, in 2013, Tianhong Yu was a Visiting Research Scholar at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where they further pursued their research interests.

Tianhong Yu completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics at Peking University from 2003 to 2007. Tianhong then pursued a Master of Science degree in Physics at Clemson University from 2007 to 2010. Following that, they obtained a PhD in Astrophysics from Clemson University from 2010 to 2013.

In addition to their formal education, Tianhong Yu has also obtained several certifications. Tianhong completed the "Machine Learning" course from Coursera and obtained a certificate for it in November 2016. Tianhong also completed the "Deep Learning Specialization" course from Coursera, the "Spark and Python for Big Data with PySpark" course from Udemy, the "Build a Blockchain and a Cryptocurrency from Scratch" course from Udemy, the "Ethereum and Solidity: The Complete Developer's Guide" course from Udemy, and the "Java Tutorial" course from SoloLearn. For these courses, Tianhong Yu received certificates from the respective institutions in 2018. Additionally, Tianhong Yu completed the "I.T. Project Management for Beginners" course from Udemy in February 2023.
