Tony McCarthy has a strong background in the food industry, with extensive experience in research and development. Tony currently holds the position of EVP FSQ + RDI at Ornua Ingredients North America, where they also previously served as VP RDI. Prior to that, they worked as Vice President Technical Services at Saputo Inc. From 2016 to 2020, they were the Vice President of Research & Development at Ornua, where they implemented a lean/agile project management system and achieved significant growth in innovation ROI. Before that, they served as a Strategic Business Technology Program Director and Strategic Technologies Program Director at Schreiber Foods. Tony also held various positions at Glanbia, including Director of Operations in Mexico, Technical Director, Business Development Manager, and Senior R&D Manager. Earlier in their career, they worked as a Senior Dairy Applications Specialist at Cargill and as a New Venture Project Manager at Kerry Foods.
Tony McCarthy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Dairy and Food Science from University College Cork, which they attended from 1982 to 1986. Prior to that, they completed their secondary education at Christian Brothers College from 1975 to 1982. In addition, they obtained a certification as a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt from the ASQ in December 2015.
