Percio Gulko serves as the Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Division of Rheumatology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai since April 2014. Under Percio Gulko's leadership, the division is advancing a new basic and translational research program and enhancing involvement in clinical research and drug trials focused on rheumatic diseases. Prior to this role, Percio Gulko was a Professor and Laboratory Director at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research from October 2001 to March 2014 and held the position of Assistant Professor of Medicine and Pediatrics at Columbia University from November 1997 to September 2001. Percio Gulko completed a Rheumatology fellowship at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from 1995 to 1997, having previously completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University. The medical education began with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul from 1981 to 1987.
