Eduard Arruga

Eduard is the head of the Finance practice in Spain, focused on debt finance and restructuring, with a broad range of experience in leveraged lending and real estate finance.

Due to his double degree (in law and business administration), since the beginning of his career Eduard has been involved in finance deals, both domestic and multi-jurisdictional. Afterwards, due to the financial crisis in Spain, he also specialized in debt restructurings and court-sanctioned deals (Spanish homologation process and English scheme of arrangements applied for by Spanish companies).

He acts for banks, other lending institutions, sponsors and borrowers. He is focused on delivering prompt and excellent advice to clients and believes that understanding their business and sector is essential for the quality of said delivery.

Eduard joined Osborne Clarke in 2014, after more than 15 years working at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer. He has a degree in law from the University of Barcelona and a degree in business administration from the University of Barcelona and the University of California (Berkeley), and has been a member of the Barcelona Bar since 1999.
