Pavel Drozd has an extensive academic career at Ostravská univerzita since September 1997, serving in various roles including proděkan pro vědu a doktorské studium, university teacher, and vice-rector for research and creative activities. Prior experience includes a postdoctoral position at the Insect Ecology Project within the Institute of Entomology CAS/Bishop Museum Honolulu from April 1998 to March 1999. Pavel Drozd holds a Master of Science degree in teaching mathematics and biology from the University of Ostrava (1989-1994) as well as a Ph.D. in Ecology from Mendel University in Brno (1994-1997).
