Ahmed Elsayyad has a diverse work experience. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Berman Institute of Bioethics Researcher at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, where they investigated more ethically feasible alternatives to the currently accepted model of access to treatment in randomized clinical trials. In 2017, they became an Investor at Flat World Partners, a next generation investment advisory firm, where they were responsible for sourcing new ideas for potential investments, performing due diligence activities, evaluating early-stage investment opportunities and recommending new strategies that improve return and reduce portfolio risk. In 2019, they became the President & Co-Founder of Ostro (f/k/a RxDefine), an enterprise SaaS company offering the first end-to-end solution for digital commercialization in the life sciences sector. Ahmed raised $50M+ by the leading early-stage investors behind companies like Facebook, SpaceX, AirBnB, Stripe, Palantir, Postmates, Lyft, Udemy, Instacart, Square, Genentech, Grail, etc. In 2022, they became an Investor at Caffeinated Capital Collective, a $50M seed-stage operator fund investing in founders and teams building the defining companies of the next generation. Ahmed also became an Adjunct Instructor at New York University in 2022.
Ahmed Elsayyad obtained a Bachelor's Degree from The Johns Hopkins University in 2015, majoring in Public Health, Bioethics, and Philosophy. Ahmed then attended the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, where they obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree in 2017.
