Renee Cooper has an extensive work history in the field of software testing and engineering. Renee began their career in 1992 as a Software Test Engineer at Rho, Inc. where they worked on manual and automated testing for Microsoft Word in Arabic and Hebrew language editions. Renee's contract with Rho, Inc. ended when they were hired as a full-time employee Test Lead at Microsoft in 1993. At Microsoft, they managed a team of contingent staff testing right-to-left language functionality in Microsoft Word and participated in manual and automated testing. In 1996, Renee transitioned to a role as a Software Test Engineer at Microsoft, primarily focusing on writing automated API tests for VBScript and JavaScript components in Internet Explorer, with some UI testing of Visual Studio. Renee later served as a Software Test Lead for Middle East Product Development, managing a team testing Microsoft Word for right-to-left language functionality and contributing to testing duties. In 1997, Renee became a Test Lead and Test Manager at Microsoft, overseeing complex script language functionality testing in Microsoft Office and managing a team of testers. Renee continued to contribute to manual and automated testing and worked closely with developers and project managers to ensure test coverage. Renee held this position until 2003 when they transitioned to the role of Senior SDET on the User Experience team in Microsoft Office. In this role, they conducted manual and automated testing of UI design and implementation, as well as performance, accessibility, security, international, and other test horizontals. Renee remained in this role for nine years. Starting in 2012, Renee served as a Senior SDET and later as a Senior Software Engineer on the Shipping Excellence team for modern Outlook at Microsoft. Renee'sresponsibilities included data analysis and reporting to improve automation quality and build turnaround times. In 2014, Renee temporarily took a sabbatical to recharge and engage in tech courseware to keep their skills sharp. Renee returned to the workforce in 2015 as a Senior SQL QA Engineer at AIM Consulting Group. After a brief stint, Renee joined DreamBox Learning as a Principal Quality Engineer - Server in 2015. In this role, they drove QA from design to post-shipping maintenance for multiple core services, including designing input strategies, test execution, and manual and automated testing. Renee eventually assumed the role of Big Data Senior SDET at DreamBox Learning in 2020. Most recently, they joined Ostro in 2023 as a QA Data Engineer.
Renee Cooper received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer Science from The Evergreen State College, studying from 1990 to 1992. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications in AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in January 2023 and AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from AWS in January 2022.
