Tracy Bailey

Tracy Bailey, Ph.D., currently serves as the National Director for Freedom Readers, Inc., where responsibilities include establishing new literacy sites and mentoring advocates. In addition to this role, Tracy is the Director of Educational Outreach and Teacher Placement at Davidson College, facilitating connections between students and educational institutions. Tracy has authored the book "Forever Free: A True Story of Hope in the Fight for Child Literacy," with both print and audiobook formats available. In past positions, Tracy served as Chief Executive Officer of Boys and Girls Club of The Grand Strand, led Freedom Readers from its inception as Founder and Executive Director, and held various board member positions, including at the Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. Tracy holds a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from the University of South Carolina and has extensive experience in educational outreach and literacy advocacy.
