Dirk Smulders

Dirk Smulders has a strong and diverse work experience. Dirk is currently the CEO of Otolift Stairlifts since 2023. Before that, they served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Dieseko Group BV from 2019 to 2023, and as the COO of Dieseko Group from 2017 to 2019. From 2016 to 2017, they were the Chief Executive Officer of Fontijne Grotnes Group. Prior to that, they held the position of CEO Doedijns at DGI (Doedijns Group International) from 2013 to 2016 and Managing Director from 2011 to 2014. Dirk also worked as a Business Unit Manager at Eriks from 2010 to 2011 and as a Partner at Penguin Ventures B.V. from 2007 to 2010. Dirk started their career at Stork Industry Services, where they held various roles including Business Unit Manager, Tender Manager, and General Management Trainee from 2002 to 2007. Overall, Dirk Smulders has extensive experience in executive leadership roles, business management, and project management in a variety of industries.

Dirk Smulders obtained a Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Delft University of Technology from 1995 to 2002. In terms of executive education, they attended the Leadership for Growth Program at TIAS School for Business and Society from 2007 to 2008, where they studied marketing, strategy, and finance. In 2008, Dirk completed the Finance for Executives program at INSEAD. The following year, they attended Harvard Business School for a program in negotiation and decision making. In 2014, Dirk participated in The Leadership Challenge program at IMD. Additionally, they obtained a certification in Leadership in Listening from Erasmus University Rotterdam in 2020.
