Mehul Patel

Mehul Patel, PharmD, BCMAS has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Mehul is currently serving as the Executive Director, CNS TA lead, Global Medical Affairs at Otsuka Pharmaceutical Companies (U.S.). Prior to this, they held the position of Executive Director, CNS TA head, US Medical Affairs at the same company. Mehul also worked as the Senior Director, Medical Affairs, U.S. Neuroscience TA lead at Otsuka.

Before joining Otsuka, Mehul worked as a Medical Director, Global Medical Affairs at AbbVie, formerly Allergan/Forest, from 2012 to 2021. Prior to that, they served as a Clinical Program Leader at Biogen Idec, where they played a key role in developing clinical development plans and overseeing the clinical development team for pipeline products.

Earlier in their career, Mehul worked at PDL as a Manager, Medical Affairs, where they developed and executed medical strategies for a cardiovascular brand. Mehul also supervised and developed clinical affairs specialists and was responsible for publication planning.

Mehul began their career as a Scientific Director at Embryon, where they held responsibilities in scientific research and management.

Mehul Patel, PharmD, BCMAS completed their education at the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University from 1996 to 2002, earning their PharmD degree in Pharmacy. Additionally, they also attended Rutgers College of Pharmacy during the same period and acquired a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree in Pharmacy.
