Karina Kwong has a diverse work experience in the field of public health and nutrition. Karina is currently employed as a Public Health Nutritionist at Ottawa Public Health - Santé publique Ottawa since May 2023. Prior to this, they worked at the City of Toronto in various roles including a Public Health Dietitian in the Central Resource School Nutrition Team and as a COVID-19 Communicable Disease Outbreak Liaison. Karina also served as a Public Health Dietitian in the Chronic Disease and Injury Prevention department at the City of Toronto from December 2012 to December 2020. Before joining the City of Toronto, Karina worked briefly as a Public Health Dietitian at the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit. Karina gained experience as a Student Intern in Health Promotion and Advocacy at the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Karina also worked as a Community Dietitian at North Lanark Community Health Centre from April 2009 to December 2011. Earlier in their career, they were a Clinical Dietitian at The Glebe Centre and served as a Food Service Supervisor at St. Patrick's Home.
Karina Kwong pursued their education starting from 2003 until 2008, studying Nutritional Sciences-Dietetics at McGill University - Macdonald Campus. Karina then went on to attend the University of Waterloo from 2010 to 2012, where they earned a Masters degree in Public Health.
