James Watson

James Watson brings extensive experience in financial leadership within the healthcare sector. As Chief Financial Officer at OU Health since January 2017, Watson has overseen financial operations for Oklahoma's newest academic health system, formed after a buyout from HCA. Prior positions include CFO at UChicago Medicine, where Watson built a comprehensive financial organization for the institution, and CFO at OU Medicine, Inc., leading financial strategies for a joint venture with HCA. Watson’s career began with HCA as Division Controller, supporting financial management for an eleven-hospital division in Oklahoma. Earlier experience includes serving as VP of Finance at Keck Medicine of USC. Educational credentials include an MBA from Southern Methodist University and a BS in Accounting from the University of Iowa.
