Barrett Willet is an experienced design professional with a focus on innovative softgood and hardgood solutions within the outdoor industry. Currently serving as Design Manager for Innovation & Accessories at Outdoor Research since August 2020, Barrett leads concept creation and manages design teams and internships. Barrett has also contributed to academia as a Guest Lecturer in Softgoods Design at the University of Washington. Previous experience includes roles as a Designer at IDeology Design Firm, Senior Hardgoods Designer at Arc'teryx Equipment, and Lead Designer at REI, where responsibilities encompassed leading design teams and shaping seasonal material directions. Early career experience as a Design Engineer at K2 Sports honed expertise in fit technologies for footwear. Barrett holds an Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in Mechanical Engineering from Central Piedmont Community College.
