Jonno Schmidt has a diverse range of work experience in the field of software engineering. Jonno started their career as a Tech Support at Duke OIT in 2012 and later became a Software Engineer Intern at Microsoft in 2014. Jonno then worked as a Technology Support Supervisor at Duke OIT, providing second-level management and supervision for student employees. In 2013, they became a Teaching Assistant at Duke University for the Software Development and Design course.
In 2012, Jonno took on the role of Software Architect at Gopinion, where they were responsible for developing the API and the Business Dashboard. Jonno worked closely with the CEO and CTO to determine the required services and features for the platform.
Jonno joined Microsoft in 2015 and held various roles, including Software Engineer, Software Engineer II, and Senior Software Engineer. Jonno was involved in projects such as creating the Whiteboard app, designing and building core features, and resolving critical issues in OneNote for Windows. Jonno also played a significant role in architecting the service platform and infrastructure behind Microsoft Whiteboard.
In 2019, Jonno joined Convoy Inc as a Software Engineer. Jonno worked on software development projects until 2023 when they joined Outgo as a Software Engineer, where they are currently employed.
Jonno Schmidt completed their education with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Duke University, where they studied from 2011 to 2015. Prior to that, they pursued computer science part-time at Nelson Mandela University from 2010 to 2011. Jonno's secondary education was completed at Grey High School from 2005 to 2009. In addition to their formal education, they obtained a certification as a Certified Information Privacy Technologist (CIPT) from The International Association of Privacy Professionals in October 2018.
