Senior Software Engineer at Outreach

Max McFarland has a diverse work experience in software engineering and data engineering roles. Max is currently working as a Software Engineer at Outreach since May 2022. Before that, they worked at Seattle University as an MSBA Research Assistant II from September 2021 to February 2022. During this time, they assisted professors in instructing a Python programming class and designed a web scraping program for academic research. Prior to that, Max worked at Netflix as a Data Engineer from June 2021 to September 2021. In this role, they contributed to existing internal CLI tools and developed a unit testing library for executing PySpark and Spark SQL code. Max McFarland also has experience as a Junior Data Engineer/Analyst at SEIU 775 Benefits Group from April 2019 to August 2020. Here, they assisted in designing a record transfer system using Dell Boomi, AWS services, and Scrum Agile framework, and created a process for exporting modified records to external microservices.

Max McFarland began their education in 2015 at Western Washington University, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics. Max attended the university until 2018 and completed their undergraduate studies. In 2018, Max briefly attended Code Fellows to gain knowledge and skills in computer software engineering, but did not obtain a degree from this institution. Currently, they are enrolled at Seattle University, pursuing a Master of Science (MS) degree in Business Analytics, which is expected to be completed in 2022.
