Sam Aidala has worked in a variety of roles since 2017. In 2017, they worked as a Mechatronics Intern at Pridgeon & Clay, where they designed a fully mechanical, in-die transfer system for use on the factory floor. In 2019, they worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Performance Software Corporation. In 2021, they worked as an Engineering Intern at Ulendo. In 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant at the University of Michigan College of Engineering, where they developed the hardware and software for a low-cost fault detection system for consumer grade filament deposition modeling 3D printers. Currently, they are working as a Perception and CV/ML Associate Engineer at Outrider, providing support for and trouble shooting perception software stack, as well as contributing to the development of more accurate and more efficient perception algorithms.
Sam Aidala completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science from the University of Michigan College of Engineering in 2020, as well as a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the same institution in 2020. Sam then pursued a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan Rackham Graduate School, which they completed in 2021. In 2018, Sam obtained a Certified Solidworks Associate certification from the SolidWorks Authorized Training Centre.
