Kris Van Looy is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in environmental and research roles. Currently serving as Coordinator for European and international projects at OVAM since March 2018, Kris also holds the position of Head of Research & Training at HOMMES ET TERRE, focusing on forest development since 2020. Prior experience includes working as the Scientific Coordinator for the International Soil Modeling Consortium at Forschungszentrum Jülich from October 2016 to February 2018, and serving as Research Director for the River Hydro-ecology Lab at Irstea from October 2010 to July 2016. Kris holds a Bio-engineer degree in Land Use Planning and Management/Development from KU Leuven, a PhD in River Restoration and Biodiversity Conservation from the University of Antwerp, and an HDR in Ecological Connectivity of River Corridors from Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1.
