Onno Smits

Onno Smits has a diverse work experience that spans various roles and industries. Onno is currently working at Overwolf as a Lead Developer on the R6 Analyst app, focused on improving users' experience with the Rainbow Six: Siege game.

Prior to joining Overwolf, Onno was the Founder and Chief Operating Officer of two companies: Queal and Jerky Empire. In these roles, they managed the day-to-day operations of both companies, including order handling, customer service, inventory management, HR, and IT.

Onno also has experience as a Freelance 3D Design and Animation Artist, where they worked on various marketing-related projects for nonprofit organizations as well as personal artistic expression. Additionally, they worked as an IT Helpdesk Student Assistant at the Rotterdam School of Management, where they responded to IT-related inquiries from students and staff.

Furthermore, Onno held leadership roles within the Rotterdamsch Studenten Gezelschap, including being the Chairman of the Automatiseringscommissie, overseeing all IT-related assets and leading a team of 13 members. Onno was also a member of the Diescommissie, responsible for organizing various events.

Through their diverse roles and experiences, Onno has developed a strong background in IT, operations management, and leadership.

Onno Smits has a well-rounded education history that spans multiple disciplines. Onno began their academic journey in 2002 at the Lorentz Lyceum, where they pursued a Bilingual University Preparatory High School (TTO VWO) degree with a focus on Economy and Society. In parallel, from 2002 to 2008, they also studied English Language and Literature at the International Baccalaureate, achieving an English A2 Higher Level degree.

Following their secondary education, Smits joined the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University in 2008. Onno pursued a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Business Administration and Management, specializing in the general field of Business Administration and Management. Continuing their studies at the same institution, they subsequently undertook a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Business Information Management from 2011 to 2013. During this time, they also pursued a minor in Computer Sciences within their bachelor's degree, focusing on Computer and Information Sciences.
