Doug M.

Doug M. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple companies and roles. Doug began their career in 2000 as an Electrical Engineer at DISC Inc and later joined Nanometrics as a Senior Electrical Engineer. In 2007, Doug joined OptiSolar as an Equipment Engineer and Supply Quality Engineer, responsible for PV panel production equipment and process improvements.

In 2009, they moved on to Solyndra as an Electrical Engineer, where they owned and managed the design and installation of electrical systems for automated material handling cells in a PV manufacturing facility. At Nanometrics, from 2011 to 2013, Doug served as an Integrated Metrology Program Manager, defining specifications and managing the development of hardware and software controls.

Their next position was at Bentek Corporation, where they held the roles of Senior Electrical Engineer and Engineering Manager in the Solar Division. As the Engineering Manager, Doug led an engineering team in the development of balance of systems equipment for the photovoltaic industry. Doug was responsible for maintaining product certifications, managing relationships with test labs, and ensuring compliance with UL, NEC, and related industry standards.

Currently, Doug works at Owens Design as a Senior Electrical Engineer, a position they started in December 2020.

Doug M. attended California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo from 1995 to 2000. Doug obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering during this time.
