Eric Durand

Eric Durand is a seasoned professional in data science and computational biology, currently serving as Chief Data Science Officer and SVP Data Science at Owkin since March 2022. As a co-founder of Bioptimus since February 2024, Eric brings extensive experience from previous roles at Novartis, where leadership encompassed directing the global Oncology Data Science group and leading data science initiatives. Prior experience includes significant contributions to 23andMe as a Senior Computational Biologist and a postdoctoral research position at UC Berkeley focusing on human evolutionary history. Eric holds a Ph.D. in Applied Statistics and Population Genetics from Grenoble INP - UGA.
