Shelby Bolen

Shelby Bolen is an experienced media officer currently working at Oxfam America since October 2022. Prior to that, Shelby served as a research fellow and adjunct instructor at the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy from August 2019 to October 2022, where responsibilities included coordinating projects focused on democracy and cybersecurity as well as teaching courses on journalism’s influence. Shelby has also held roles as a Geoffrey Cowan Scholar, developing courses on propaganda, and has contributed to research on human rights communication. Previous internships include positions at Finn NY, Bowers Museum, and the American Heart Association. Educational credentials include a Master of Arts from the University of Southern California and a Master of Science from the London School of Economics.
