Martyn Allen

Martyn Allen is a Senior Project Manager for Post-Excavation at Oxford Archaeology Limited, where responsibilities include managing the analysis and interpretation of data from archaeological projects since January 2017. Previously, Martyn served as a Post-Excavation Project Officer at the same company. Additionally, as a self-employed freelance zooarchaeologist since 2008, professional services include analysis of animal bones and public outreach. Martyn's academic career features a role as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University of Reading focusing on Roman Britain, and research assistantship at English Heritage developing an animal bone database. Earlier experience includes lecturing on environmental archaeology at the University of Nottingham and editing accessible documents for visually impaired students. Martyn holds a PhD in Archaeology from the University of Nottingham and a Master’s in Osteoarchaeology from the University of Southampton.
