David B.

David B. has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. David currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing at Oxford BioDynamics Plc since January 2021. Before this, David worked at Aspen Neuroscience as the Director of Branding from October 2019 to January 2021. Prior to that, they held multiple roles at PolarityTE, including Chief Design & Technology Officer, Vice President of Design, and Director of Medical Illustration and Branding from December 2018 to September 2019, April 2018 to November 2018, and July 2017 to March 2018, respectively. David also has experience as the Senior Medical Art Director at Healthwise from April 2013 to July 2017. David began their career as an Instructor at JHU-SOM Art as Applied to Medicine from May 2000 to March 2013 and as a Medical Illustrator/Animator at Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications at NIH from June 2000 to February 2002. In addition, David has previous intern experience as a Medical Illustrator Intern at HT Medical Systems (now Immersion Medical) from May 1999 to August 1999 and as a Scientific Illustrator at Engineering Animation, Inc. from March 1997 to July 1998. David also founded and served as the CEO & Principal Creative of BlumDesignWerks, a design & illustration studio catering to various clientele, since June 1998. Overall, David's work experience has encompassed roles in marketing, branding, design, illustration, and animation.

David B. has an extensive education history. David first attended Saint John's University from 1991 to 1995, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Studio Art with a focus on Ceramics. From there, they went on to Iowa State University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biological/Pre-Medical Illustration from 1996 to 1998. After completing their BA at Iowa State University, David B. joined The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 1998 to 2000, where they earned a Master of Arts (MA) in Medical and Biological Illustration. David then continued their education at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine from 2003 to 2012, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Biological Chemistry.
