Carla Blackmar is a seasoned professional with a diverse background in design, project management, and urban planning. Currently serving as a Designer and Curatorial Assistant at the Hefner Museum of Natural History at Miami University since September 2018, Carla also holds a position as a Planning Commissioner for the City of Oxford, Ohio. With experience as an Independent Consultant since September 2017, Carla previously worked for the Public Health Alliance of Southern California from May 2012 to August 2017 as a Project Manager, where the focus was on integrating public health into community planning. Prior roles include Redevelopment Project Coordinator and Senior Conservation Specialist for the City of Chula Vista, where Carla led initiatives to enhance public health and sustainability. Academic qualifications include a Master's degree in City Planning from San Diego State University and a Bachelor's degree in Visual and Environmental Studies from Harvard University. Additionally, Carla has completed a Polyculture Project focusing on Regenerative Landscape Design.
