Aaron Pomerantz

Aaron Pomerantz, PhD, has a diverse work experience spanning from 2008 to the present. Aaron started as an undergraduate student at the University of California, Riverside, where they conducted research on various topics including endosymbiont effects on offspring in a parasitoid wasp and the West Nile virus vector, Culex stigmatasoma. After completing their undergraduate degree, they pursued a Masters at the University of Florida, studying the molecular mechanisms of sex determination in a predatory mite. Aaron then moved on to the University of California, Berkeley, where they obtained their PhD. Their research focused on the evolution, development, and genetic basis of wing transparency in butterflies and moths, utilizing techniques in molecular and developmental biology, DNA sequencing, genome editing, biochemistry, and physics. Alongside their academic pursuits, Aaron has also worked as a Field Biologist and Marketing Strategist at Rainforest Expeditions. Currently, they hold the position of Segment Marketing Manager at Oxford Nanopore Technologies.

Aaron Pomerantz, PhD, completed their Bachelor's degree in Entomology at the University of California, Riverside, from 2008 to 2012. Aaron then pursued a Master's degree in Entomology at the University of Florida, completing it from 2012 to 2014. Finally, Aaron obtained their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Molecular Biology from the University of California, Berkeley, from 2016 to 2021.
