Mike Tweddle

Mike Tweddle is an accomplished artistic director and CEO with extensive experience in the theatre industry. Currently serving as the Artistic Director & CEO at Oxford Playhouse since September 2023, Mike previously held the role of Artistic Director / Co-CEO at Tobacco Factory Theatres from July 2016 to October 2022. Mike also engaged as a Volunteer Maths Tutor at The Access Project for a brief period in early 2021 and served as Joint Artistic Director / CEO at Out of Chaos from July 2007 to May 2016, where Mike directed and co-produced numerous award-winning productions that toured globally. Additionally, Mike co-founded and co-directed BE FESTIVAL, Birmingham's international theatre festival, between 2010 and 2015. Earlier experience includes an Assistant Director role at Shakespeare's Globe in 2008. Mike's educational background includes a first-class BA Hons in English from the University of Oxford, a professional certificate in Theatre from École Jacques Lecoq, and a scholarship residency in Theatre at Sarah Lawrence College.
