Animal Care Volunteer at Pacific Marine Mammal Center

Nicolina Pappas is an experienced animal care professional with a diverse background in veterinary medicine and animal welfare. Currently serving as an Animal Care Volunteer at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center since June 2021, Nicolina has also completed a Small Animal Rotating Internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital & Referral Center in June 2024. Prior experience includes working as a Veterinary Assistant at River's Edge Pet Medical Center, where responsibilities involved direct animal care and treatment support. Nicolina has engaged in various volunteer roles, including shadowing veterinarians and assisting at humane societies and zoos, demonstrating a strong commitment to animal health and well-being. Educational achievements include earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from Oregon State University.
