Steve Myers is the Senior Program Manager at Pacific NorthWest Economic Region. Steve has over fifteen years of experience in emergency management and homeland security. Steve has worked as a Civil Defense Planning Specialist, Regional Field Director, Staff Information Assistant, and Records Analyst.
Steve began their career as a Records Analyst with the Executive Office of the President. Steve then transitioned to the National Security Council as a Staff Information Assistant. In this role, they provided policy and logistical support to the National Security Advisor and Deputies. Steve also assisted with the coordination of travel for high-level government officials and dignitaries.
After the 9/11 attacks, Steve became interested in emergency management and homeland security. Steve transitioned to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency as a Civil Defense Planning Specialist. In this role, they coordinated the state’s emergency management strategic planning for interoperable communications. Steve also facilitated the coordination of state and local agencies. Steve helped develop tactical interoperable communication plans throughout the state and provided expertise in the grant writing process for local communication needs.
After their time with the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency, Steve became the Regional Field Director for The Governor Heineman Committee. In this role, they managed field operations in Nebraska and Iowa during the 2006 election cycle. Steve oversaw a team of field staff and directed voter contact operations.
Steve is a highly experienced emergency manager and homeland security professional. Steve has a deep understanding of both policy and logistics. Steve is a skilled communicator and an expert in emergency management planning.
Steve Myers has a Bachelor's degree in Theirtory from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Steve also has a certification from the Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service in Infrastructure Protection.
