Bezawit Zerayacob Bekele has a diverse range of work experience in the field of architecture and project engineering.
Bezawit Zerayacob started their career as an Architecture Intern at T-Square Consult PLC in 2015, where they worked on the design of various buildings and conducted construction site supervision.
In 2017, they joined Zion Interior Design as an Interior & Facade Designer, where they prepared as-built drawings, designed conceptualization and presentation of mood boards, and created 3D renderings and detail drawings. Bezawit Zerayacob also worked on the design of facades and landscapes for select projects.
During the same year, they also worked as a Research Architect at Zoma Contemporary Arts Center in collaboration with EiABC, Addis Ababa University. Here, they studied vernacular architecture in the Afar region of Ethiopia, digitally modeled vernacular buildings, and documented native building materials and construction techniques.
In 2018, they joined Extudio 35 as an Architect, where they participated in the design and construction process of over 10 projects in Ethiopia and Costa Rica. Bezawit Zerayacob'sresponsibilities included conducting meetings with clients, site analysis, design conceptualization, and preparing design proposals using software such as Revit, Auto CAD, and Adobe Illustrator.
From 2019 to 2020, Bezawit worked as a Company Relations Committee Member at Praktijkvereniging BouT (TU Delft), where they were involved in managing company relations.
In 2020, they joined White Lioness Technologies as a Project Engineer Intern, and later became a Project Engineer. Bezawit Zerayacob'sroles at the company included creating JSON configurations for design automation platforms, creating cloud-based parametric models and calculation graphs, preparing reports using templates, and configuring user interfaces for projects.
Throughout their work experience, Bezawit has demonstrated proficiency in various software tools and has been involved in different aspects of project design, analysis, and presentation.
Bezawit Zerayacob Bekele completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture at Addis Ababa University from 2012 to 2017. In 2018, they attended Rutgers University for a certification program in decision making for environmentally sustainable supply chains. From 2019 to 2021, Bezawit pursued their Masters degree in Architecture, Urbanism and Building Sciences at Delft University of Technology.
In addition to their formal education, Bezawit has obtained several certifications and participated in various programs. In 2019, they became an European Forum Alpbach Scholar and an Obama Foundation Young African Leader. Bezawit Zerayacob was also a delegate at the Yenching Global Symposium and the Global Program for Women Leaders. In 2018, Bezawit was a Mandela Washington Fellow through the Young African Leadership Initiative. Bezawit Zerayacob has also earned certifications in Professional Scrum Master I, the 3D Printing Revolution, and Fundamentals of Graphic Design.
