Jaco D. has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Jaco'smost recent position is as the Director of Engineering (Data) at Paddle, where they currently work. Prior to that, they were the Head of Data Engineering at Oodle Car Finance, responsible for leading the migration of the company's data infrastructure to the cloud and building the data architecture. Jaco also expanded the Data Engineering team during their tenure.

Before Oodle, Jaco worked at Winton Group as a Senior Data Engineer. In this role, they developed equity price feeds into Microsoft SQL Server, contributed to schema design and index optimization, and created PySpark ETL jobs executed by Airflow.

Jaco has also worked as a Senior Web Developer at Sophos, where they used C#, ASP.NET, JQuery, and SQL Server to help create the company's new corporate website. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Developer at Merrill Lynch, developing new functionality for a portfolio management tool.

Earlier in their career, Jaco worked as a Developer at Williams Lea, where they developed high-throughput feeds for online and printed statements for major financial institutions. Jaco also worked as an Associate Analyst Programmer at Tessella, building a web application for a prominent blue-chip company.

Jaco's academic background includes a PhD in Nanotechnology from the University of London.

Jaco D. completed a PhD in Nanotechnology from UCL between 2003 and 2006. Prior to that, from 1995 to 2000, they obtained a Master of Science degree in Physics from Delft University of Technology.
