Julie Jo

Julie Jo has extensive work experience in the legal field, with a focus on the blockchain and finance industries. Julie is currently working as the General Counsel at Pagoda, a company in the NEAR ecosystem. Prior to this, they held the same position at cLabs. Before their time at Pagoda and cLabs, Julie worked at Valora as the General Counsel and Legal Advisor, where they played a key role in making blockchain accessible to smartphone users. Julie also worked at Xapo as the U.S. Legal Counsel, Interim Chief Compliance Officer, and Corporate Secretary. Julie's previous experience includes working as the Corporate and Regulatory Counsel VP at Crédit Agricole CIB, a role where they provided corporate banking services to clients globally. Julie also worked as a Corporate Counsel at MUFG, Consultant at The World Bank, Associate Counsel at Tower Research Capital, Associate at McLeod, Witham & Flynn LLP, and Legal Consultant at UNESCO. Throughout their career, Julie has demonstrated expertise in corporate law, compliance, and blockchain technology.

Julie Jo has a Juris Doctor (JD) degree from Columbia Law School. Julie also holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from the University of California, Berkeley. In terms of certifications, Julie is a Certified Information Privacy Professional - Europe (CIPP/E) obtained in January 2023 from the IAPP - International Association of Privacy Professionals. Additionally, they are a member of the California State Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
