Eline Blommaert has worked in various roles in the field of biology and bioinformatics. Starting in 2014, they completed their Master's thesis at KU Leuven, where they studied the Mode of Action of a compound against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Eline gained expertise in drug development and microbiology during this time.
In 2015, Eline began their PhD research at KU Leuven, where they focused on studying the Congenital Disorders of Glycosylation (CDG) and identified a new causative gene for CDG using Next Generation Sequencing and laboratory techniques.
In 2018, they conducted a research stay at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, which allowed their to strengthen their network and collaboration skills, as well as develop their project managing and organizational skills.
In 2020, Eline worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute, where they analyzed large-scale omic datasets from cancer patients. Eline'swork focused on bioinformatic and statistical analysis, providing their with a strong background in immune oncology and bioinformatics.
From 2022 to 2023, Eline worked as an R&D Leader at Väcka.
Currently, they are the Computational Biology Lead at Paleo, starting in March 2023.
Eline Blommaert pursued their education in a progressive manner, beginning with a Bachelor of Science degree in Bioscience engineering from KU Leuven, which they completed from 2010 to 2013. Eline then continued their studies at the same institution and obtained a Master of Science degree in Bioscience engineering, specializing in biomolecular engineering, from 2013 to 2015.
Building upon their prior academic achievements, Eline Blommaert went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biomedicine from KU Leuven, a program they attended from 2015 to 2019. During their course of study, they likely conducted in-depth research and contributed to the field of biomedicine through their PhD work.
To enhance their skillset beyond their formal education, Eline Blommaert also pursued additional certifications. In January 2022, they completed the "Learning GitHub" certification from LinkedIn. Eline also obtained the "SQL Essential Training" certification from LinkedIn in the same month. Prior to this, in December 2021, they acquired the "Project Management Simplified" certification, also from LinkedIn.
Throughout their educational journey, Eline Blommaert demonstrated a commitment to academic excellence and has expanded their knowledge through both formal education and professional certifications.
