Deepa Pakianathan Ph.D.

Deepa Pakianathan Ph.D. has a long and varied work experience, beginning in 1993 as a Post-doctoral scientist at Genentech. Deepa then moved on to become a Research Analyst at Genesis Merchant Group Securities in 1997, followed by a role as Vice President at J.P. Morgan in 1998. In 2001, they became a General Partner at Delphi Ventures. In 2010, they took on the role of Lead Director and Independent Board Member at Calithera Biosciences. Deepa then became an Independent Board Member at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. in 2011. In 2019, they joined Mereo BioPharma as an Independent Board Member. In 2020, they became Lead Director and Independent Board Member at Palleon Pharmaceuticals and an Independent Board Member at Theravance Biopharma US, Inc. Deepa is currently an Independent Board Member at FS Development Corp II, which they joined in 2021.

Deepa Pakianathan Ph.D. completed their Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Mumbai in 1986. Deepa then went on to obtain their Master of Science in Biophysics from the same university in 1988. Following this, they earned their Master of Science in Immunology from Wake Forest University in 1990. Finally, they completed their Doctor of Philosophy in Immunology and Immunoparasitology from Wake Forest University in 1993.
