Junaid Baqai

Junaid Baqai, M.D., FCAP, FASCP, is a seasoned medical professional currently serving as the Medical Director at Pana Community Hospital since January 2024. With extensive experience, Baqai has held significant roles at Memorial Health since July 2014, including Director of Hematology, Coagulation and Flow Cytometry, Staff Pathologist, and Medical Director of Laboratory Information Systems. Additionally, Baqai has been the Medical Director of the Laboratory at Taylorville Memorial Hospital since December 2017 and an Assistant Professor at SIU School of Medicine since July 2014. Previous experience includes a fellowship in oncologic surgical pathology at Roswell Park Cancer Institute and hematopathology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Baqai completed residency training at Danbury Hospital and served as Manager of Molecular Pathology at QDx Pathology Services. Baqai earned an M.D. in Medicine from DOW Medical College, Pakistan, from 2000 to 2005.
