Caitlin McCabe's work experience begins in 2006 as a News Intern at Allied News where they researched news topics and wrote articles. Caitlin then worked as a Circulation Desk Attendant at Chatham University from 2005 to 2007. In 2008, McCabe interned at WTAE Hearst Pittsburgh in the newsroom. Caitlin also worked as a Broadcast Studio Student Assistant at Chatham University, where they filmed and edited campus events and assisted with media projects. McCabe then worked in various roles at Chatham University, including Howe-Childs Gate House Associate and Summer Staff in the Office of the Dean. Caitlin also worked as a Front Office Assistant at Med Express Urgent Care in 2010. McCabe then joined The Midwife Center for Birth & Women's Health as a Client Services Associate and was later promoted to Client Services Manager. Caitlin briefly worked as a Mortgage Credit Processor at CBC Innovis before joining Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. At Carnegie Mellon, they worked as a Business Communications Associate, assisting with official communications and developing educational materials. Caitlin also served as an Assistant to the Upperclass and Greek Housefellows, providing administrative support and coordinating schedules. Most recently, McCabe worked at Panopto as a Product Content Manager II, where they developed and maintained user documentation and collaborated with cross-functional teams.

Caitlin McCabe's education history begins in 2001 when they attended Slippery Rock Area High School and obtained their HS Diploma in 2005. Following this, they attended Chatham University from 2005 to 2009, where they earned their BA degree in Professional Communications with a focus on Print & Broadcast Journalism. During their time at Chatham University, Caitlin also pursued a minor in Spanish. In 2008, they participated in a program at Universitat d'Alacant, earning a certificate in Intermediate Spanish Language.

Additionally, Caitlin has obtained certifications in various fields. In 2015, they completed the Writing & Designing NSF Proposals Workshop and received a Certificate of Completion from the Grant Training Center. In 2018, they obtained the Mental Health First Aid USA certification from the National Council for Behavioral Health.
