Brian Moffat

Chief Innovation Officer at Panthalassa

Brian Moffat has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Brian started their career as a Consultant Programmer at RADIOGRAPHIC DIGITAL IMAGING, where they developed an inter-application modem communications package and image enhancement algorithms for medical images. Brian then worked as a Staff Engineer/Researcher at Walt Disney Internet Group, contributing to the creation of the "BlastPad" instant messaging tool.

After that, they joined Walt Disney Imagineering as a Staff Engineer/Researcher, where they invented a novel video surveillance and intruder-detection system. Brian later joined Opto-Knowledge Systems, Inc. as a Staff Scientist, where they invented solutions for technological problems and created proposals for government agencies.

Moving on, Brian worked at Google as a Programmer, where they patented a face identification algorithm that improved upon existing photo tagging software. Brian then worked as a Senior Engineer at ThinkNear/Telenav, where they designed and implemented an algorithm for automated mobile ad-serving campaigns.

Following that, they joined InAuth, Inc. as a Senior Engineer, where they invented new technologies to enhance the safety of online transactions. Brian then worked at Spindrift Energy as an Inventor, where they developed a power-generating system to capture wave energy and received an Energy Innovations Small Grant.

Brian's most recent role was at Dollar Shave Club, where they served as a Senior Engineer and helped implement the back-end of the e-commerce website. Brian also developed an adaptive algorithm to optimize shipping volume and lead time in fulfillment centers.

Currently, Brian is serving as the Chief Innovation Officer at Panthalassa.

Brian Moffat attended UC Irvine from 1982 to 1986, where they earned a B.S. degree in Computer Science, Chemistry, and Biology.
